Pamela Naidoo-Ameglio


Pamela is a leader in mining, exploration and stakeholder engagement. She has more than 24 years in operational, corporate and executive roles in Africa and Australasia.

Pamela focuses on the overlap of technical projects with stakeholder engagement and decision-making at an executive and board level. Her background includes mining and exploration across numerous commodities, competent person reporting, feasibility studies, operational risk management, technology projects, business improvement, mineral resource management and corporate governance reporting. Pamela is passionate about building an enabling culture within which multi-disciplinary teams excel. This includes ensuring engagement and providing mentoring and coaching. She sees technology as an enabler for working safer and smarter, and for building a better world.

Pamela served as a Director of the AusIMM (2015-2017), which included roles on the Professional Accreditation Advisory Taskforce, Policy and Advocacy Committee, Risk and Audit Committee, and Communities of Interest Funding Committee. Pamela previously Chaired the AusIMM Geoscience Society and served on the Lachlan Branch and WIMnet NSW committees. Pamela is a Fellow and past President of the Geological Society of South Africa (2012) and Fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists and graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She was the founding chair of Women in Mining South Africa (2010-2011) and was recognised in the inaugural 100 Global Inspiration Women in Mining in 2013.

Pamela is currently the Group Executive of Nuclear Operations at ANSTO, and  a director of airborne geophysics companies Gyrolag and Exige.
