Keely is in her final year of a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) (Honours) at Monash University in Melbourne. She is on the committee of the AusIMM Melbourne Student Chapter and her university’s Resource Engineering Student Society.
Keely has completed work experience in both civil construction, mining, and oil and gas sectors. This involved a three-month internship at BHP’s Olympic Dam Mine. At the commencement of the program, she was tasked with a real-life issue pertaining to the mine and presented her findings to stakeholders upon completion. Keely completed her Honours study as a continuation of this industry-based project. Additionally, she is currently completing a 3-month internship for ExxonMobil, and part-time work for DGO Gold.
As well as having a keen interest in logical problem solving, Keely is passionate about creative endeavours and was an illustrator for Monash University’s student magazine. She enjoys the balance between competitive sports, university commitments, leadership responsibilities and social activities.
