Dongsheng Wang was the former Deputy Director of China Northwest Mining and Geological Exploration Bureau for Non-ferrous Metals. He is currently General Manager of Chinalco Resources Co Ltd.
He graduated from the Central South Institute of Mining and Metallurgy in China in 1982 with a major in geology. In 2010 he earned an Executive MBA from Peking University.
Dongsheng was awarded the professional title of Senior Engineer in 1993 and was promoted to Professor in 1999. He engaged in technical and investment management of the exploration and development of gold, silver, copper, lead，iron ore, vanadium, etc.
He has experience working in and cooperating with large-scale geological enterprises and large mining companies.
Dongsheng organised the exploration of 18 large and medium-sized metal deposits in China including Kangdenongshe gold mine in Qinghai, Angqing silver-lead-zinc mine in Tibet, South Tiegelong copper mine in Tibet and Naruo copper mine in Tibet.
Dongsheng also organised the development and construction of three non-ferrous metal mineral mines and four joint-venture mines in China.
