Professor Alice Clark is the current Director of the Production Centres, the Julius Kruttschnitt Mineral Research Centre and the W H Bryan Mining and Geology Research Centre at the University of Queensland. Alice sits on the NSW Government Independent Planning Commission, is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Applied Earth Science Transactions and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
She holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Economic Geology from James Cook University. Formally, Alice has held positions including Chair of the AusIMM North West Queensland Branch, member of the Queensland Exploration Council, Queensland Resources Industry Ambassador and was the Deputy Chair of the Joint Ore Reserves Committee.
She is an AusIMM Fellow and Chartered Professional. She was President of AusIMM from 2011-12 and was a member of the Board of Directors from 2008-2014.
Alice has over 30 years’ global industry experience. She has held executive level positions in large and mid-tier mining companies. Her experience spans mineral exploration, mine geology, mineral processing, mining engineering, resource estimation, strategic mine planning, feasibility and due diligence studies. She aims to develop solutions to issues facing the minerals and extractive industries through discipline integration, innovation and early application of technological advances.
