Steve Hunt has 30+ years’ experience in mine geology and operations, close mine exploration and development. His mining and exploration experience has been gained on a variety of scales, including both hard rock and alluvial deposits. He has 10 years’ experience in developing countries as resident; including Indonesia and PNG.

Steve consults in geology and ore reserves compliance for the Rio Tinto group across multiple commodities and at various project development and operating stages. He has significant experience in both Archaean and epithermal gold terrains, plus uranium, iron ore, copper and HM sands. He has managed major drilling programs and resource development programmes, evaluation of purchase and investment opportunities.

Steve specialities are resource and reserve audit, signoff and reporting, mine geology, reconciliation, resource development and geometallurgy. He has been Chairman of the Joint Ore Reserves Committee (JORC) since December 2013 and a member of the committee since January 2005. Steve is a Fellow of AusIMM (FAusIMM), a Member of the Australian Society of Geoscientists, (MAIG) and holds a Restricted Quarry Managers Certificate (WA) 1986.
